We collaborated with Belfast-born artist, AJ Laird, to create a bespoke Maraí 401.
The watch was limited to just 20 pieces, and sold out in less than 24 hours, with the possibility of another collaboration in the new year.
This special edition Marai 401 is finished in our blackout coating and features AJ’s signature on the dial. At six o’clock you can see a hand-finished miniature painting of the Harland & Wolf cranes. It’s a small rendition of AJ’s original work – No Place Like Home.
Each dial is individually hand-finished by AJ, meaning no two pieces are the same. The result is a wearable art piece that ties Belfast shipbuilding past to a modern, everyday dive watch.
It blends AJ’s unmistakable artistic flair with our craftsmanship. AJ is a self-taught artist whose work can be found in many homes and businesses across the globe. With numerous high-profile clients and owners of his work including His Majesty, King Charles III and The Queen. AJ has painted live at many prestigious events across the country, raising thousands of pounds for charity in the process, and in 2019 became the first artist to paint live in the Royal Academy of Arts, London.
