Before the official release begins, we wanted to share the story behind this year’s edition, and how collectors will have the opportunity to secure one.

The Story Behind the Black Shamrock

The shamrock has long stood as a symbol of Irish identity, its three leaves famously used by St Patrick to explain the Holy Trinity centuries ago. Today, that symbolism continues through a modern interpretation, the dubh seamróg, or Black Shamrock, shaped not by legend alone, but by the values that define Nomadic:

These three principles sit at the heart of the collection. They guide the design, the philosophy, and the intention behind every piece. Character isn’t something added at the end; it’s built layer by layer, from subtle details hidden within the watch to the meeting of black and green that defines its presence. 

Forged in Belfast and shaped by a spirit of independence, the Black Shamrock brings together watches designed to feel personal rather than performative. Small signatures, a harp motif inspired by the city’s engineering heritage, and a shamrock that reveals itself when you least expect it,  create a connection between place, identity, and the person wearing it.

Limited in number but never in character, the Black Shamrock stands as a modern trinity expressed through watches that are confident enough to carry their identity without explanation.

How the Black Shamrock Release Will Work

The 2026 launch has been designed as a structured and fair release for collectors.

Each watch is strictly limited to just 50 pieces, reinforcing the rarity at the heart of the collection.

Throughout March, one version of each model will be released daily at 7pm GMT via nomadicwatches.com with a total 31 online releases, creating a sequence of individual online drops rather than a single launch moment. Demand for previous editions has been extraordinary with many pieces selling out within seconds and this year is expected to follow the same path. 

For those who miss the online releases, an additional allocation of 19 pieces per model will be available exclusively through Nomadic’s flagship store in Belfast.

This staggered approach gives collectors multiple opportunities to take part, while preserving the limited and considered nature of the collection.
