The 457 Project: Carrying Their Stories Forward

At Nomadic, we are honoured to be creating 457 individually numbered watches for The 457 Project, an initiative led by Belfast-based Connect Through Service (CTS).

Each watch will commemorate one of the 457 British service personnel who lost their lives during the campaign in Afghanistan, accompanied by a dedicated portrait by military artist Kev Wills.

Become a custodian of a story

Taking custody of a 457 timepiece means accepting a personal role in preserving someone’s memory. Each custodian will carry the story of the individual their watch honours, keeping their life and legacy present day by day and sharing that remembrance with future generations.

Where possible, CTS will seek to pair custodians with a timepiece through shared connections, such as regiment, cap badge, operational tour or personal service history. A particular watch number cannot be guaranteed, but each pairing will be approached with care.

Remembrance with purpose

Each timepiece will be priced at £1,457, with £457 from every sale split equally between Scotty’s – The Military Bereavement Charity and Walking With The Wounded.

If all 457 watches are allocated, the project will raise £208,849 to support bereaved military families and veterans navigating life after service. CTS will receive no profit from the watches.

We are proud to help create these lasting tributes, honouring those who died while supporting those living with the impact of service and loss.
