The embedded meanings

Drawing inspiration from this shipbuilding legacy, we called our dive watch collection Marái 401. The word means ‘sea farer’ in Irish; the number an echo of Titanic’s production name.

With a 40mm case, 660ft water resistance and a Swiss mechanical movement, Marái 401 echoes Belfast’s greatest engineering feats. The unmistakable sweeping yellow second hand is a humble nod to those iconic cranes.

Great watch!

This was my first "expensive" watch and I have to say it felt it from the second I put it on. It just felt right. The dial is a real stunner and gets noticed a lot and then of course you get to tell the story behind the watch. My only criticism would be that on the white dial the yellow seconds hand does not stand out very well. I liked the watch so much that I've just purchased a Marai :-)

It took me a while to decide to buy the Marai 401 over the other options I was considering. Tag, Vertical, Hamilton, longines to name a few. I have a Breitling which spends its time in a case and I wanted an everyday watch that was easy to wear and looked good. The story behind Nomadic and it's links to Belfast won the day.
