**Protection under pressure** - If you spend any time walking the streets of Belfast, you’ll start to notice them - seahorses, hidden in plain sight. Cast in bronze, carved into stone, and woven into emblems and architecture that have stood for generations. They are part of the city’s visual language, familiar yet often unexplained.

For centuries, the seahorse has symbolised protection and good fortune for mariners. Across Ireland, an island shaped by the Atlantic, it became a trusted guardian—an emblem of hope for ships crossing unpredictable waters and the communities that depended on them. In Belfast, the seahorse features on the city’s coat of arms, reflecting its proud maritime heritage. It also appears in Dublin on landmarks such as Grattan Bridge, a lasting reminder of Ireland’s deep connection to the sea.

**The Caseback** - Turn the watch over and its story is revealed. You’ll find our seahorse, exquisitely engraved and proudly protecting the Brú wearer from deep waters and whatever else life throws its way.
