The Mystic

To mark Van Morrison’s 80th birthday and celebrate his enduring artistic legacy, Nomadic Watches was commissioned to design a bespoke timepiece. Drawing on both the cultural impact of his work and the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship, Nomadic created The Mystic, a collector’s edition watch that connects music, tradition, and horology.

The Mystic stands as a wearable celebration of Van Morrison’s cultural impact, not just a watch but a storytelling object bridging music, heritage, and craft.

80 Years. 80 Watches. One legacy.

The design drew from his 2025 album Remembering Now, with dial numerals in the same font, subtly linking the watch to his artistry while honouring classic watchmaking traditions. Each piece was carefully customised: a dial layout built around the album-inspired numerals, engraved casebacks marking the limited run of 80, and subtle detailing across the hands and crown. Every choice made the watch unmistakably his, while still carrying Nomadic’s signature character.

Roman Numerals

Numerals use the same font from Van Morrison’s 2025 album ‘Remembering Now’, creating a direct artistic connection between the music and the watch.

Watch Dial

A custom black dial bearing Van Morrison’s signature adds a personal and collectible touch.

Custom Rotor

A sapphire display back reveals the Swiss automatic movement, featuring a bespoke rotor engraved with his iconic fedora hat, an emblem of his persona.

More than a commemorative piece.

Limited to 80 pieces and rooted deeply in Belfast’s artistic community, it reinforces Nomadic’s position in bespoke watchmaking and highlights how thoughtful design can echo the narrative of an icon. It also marked a milestone for us: Nomadic’s first dress watch, created with elegance and restraint to reflect Van Morrison’s timeless influence.
