Features
The Story - The Turas 914 is named for “journey” - an apt title for a watch built to be worn through life’s most memorable moments.
The Inspiration - Inspired by the indomitable spirit of explorers like Ernest Shackleton and Tom Crean, the 914 honours human endurance, courage and grit. It’s not just a tool for telling time - it’s a reminder of where you’ve been and what lies ahead.
The Rotor - Inspired by the “Men of Endurance” and their legendary trek with the James Caird lifeboat, the rotor depicts Shackleton, Crean and crew pulling the boat across the ice while Endurance sinks behind them. It’s a visual homage to determination, engraved into the heart of the watch you choose to bring on your own journeys
The Case - The Turas 914’s 39mm case is both elegant and purposeful, crafted from fine-brushed 316L stainless steel to balance everyday wearability with expedition-ready resilience. A redesigned handset improves legibility in all conditions, while the increased bezel thickness enhances robustness without compromising form.
The Story
The Turas 914 is rooted in one of the most extraordinary survival stories in modern history. Named after the Irish word for journey, it draws inspiration from the 1914 Endurance expedition and the resilience of the men who refused to surrender to the elements. When Shackleton’s ship was crushed by Antarctic ice, it was not strength alone that carried the crew home, it was resolve, discipline and belief in the journey ahead.
The Turas 914 carries that same spirit. It is designed not as a decorative object, but as a companion, something to be worn through life’s unpredictable terrain. From daily routine to distant horizons, it is built to endure the long road rather than merely mark the hour.
Crafted in Belfast and powered by a Swiss mechanical heart, the 914 represents a meeting point between heritage and modern engineering. Its proportions are deliberate, its legibility uncompromising, its construction robust without excess. Every detail is considered, not for spectacle, but for purpose.
The exhibition caseback reveals a scene drawn from the Endurance story, a quiet tribute to human perseverance. It is a reminder that progress is rarely effortless, and that the most meaningful journeys are often the hardest won.
The Turas 914 is not about nostalgia. It is about continuity, the idea that the same grit and determination that carried explorers across frozen seas still exists in the everyday challenges we choose to face. It is a watch built for those who understand that the journey defines the destination.
