Maraí 401 × AJ Laird – No Place Like Home

For this limited collaboration, we invited local artist AJ Laird to bring his iconic Harland & Wolff cranes artwork to life on our Maraí 401 the watch that already carries so much of the city’s story.

Each dial is individually hand-finished by AJ, so no two pieces are exactly alike. It’s a wearable art piece that ties Belfast’s shipbuilding past to a modern, everyday dive watch.

This drop will include just 20 pieces in our DLC blackout finish.

Built with the same Swiss-powered reliability, 200m water resistance and robust case design as the standard Maraí 401, this edition adds something you can’t spec into a movement: the human touch of an artist who has spent years reinterpreting Belfast’s most recognisable silhouette.

This is for the person who wants more than a logo on the dial. It’s for someone who wants to carry a piece of the city’s history – and its art – on their wrist every day.

Nomadic is a community that looks after its own. We offer a limited Life-Time warranty on the watch, to repair or replace any material or component which fails due to a manufacturing defect. It does not cover any issues due to normal wear and tear, misuse, or loss/theft, and requires watches to be serviced by Nomadic at 5 year intervals.

AJ Laird is not your stereotypical artist. Belfast-born, his bold, city-rooted work captures the spirit of home. This collaboration brings together two creatives proudly flying the flag (fleg) for Belfast in our own ways.

For this project, we invited AJ to bring his iconic Harland & Wolff artwor to life on our Maraí 401, a watch that already carries so much of the cities story.

Each dial is individually hand-finished by AJ, meaning no two pieces are the same. The result is a wearable rt piece that ties Belfast shipbuilding past to a modern, everyday dive watch. It blends AJ's unmistakable artistic flair with Nomadic's craftsmanship - celebrating heritage, mutual admiration, and the city that shaped us both.

AJ is a self-taught artist whose work can be found in many homes and businesses across the globe. With numerous high-profile clients and owners of his work including His Majesty, King Charles III and the Queen Consort.

AJ has painted live at many prestigious events across the country, raising thousands of pounds for charity in the process, and in 2019 became the first artist to paint live in the Royal Academy of Arts, London.

In recognition of his impact and success, AJ was named one of Northern Ireland’s 30 Under 30 in 2023, highlighting him as one of the region’s most influential and accomplished young talents.

Do you offer Finance?

In the UK, we offer ‘pay in 3’ through our partners Klarna. Simply go through the standard checkout process, input delivery details and then right at the end where you would normally enter payment details, choose KLARNA (the pink button).

We are not currently offering any finance options in international markets. 

Which countries do you ship to?

We offer free shipping worldwide.

Orders are dispatched direct from our HQ in Northern Ireland and delivery is made by DHL, signed on receipt.

Can I track my order?

Absolutely, once your order has been dispatched you will be emailed a tracking number and delivery time information. If you need to change delivery date this can be coordinated directly with our courier DHL.

All orders are fulfilled within 1 business day of the order date. Purchases made after 13:00 GMT will not be shipped until the next business day.

UK, Ireland and EU - No there will not be any additional taxes or charges to pay.

USA - yes there will be local import duties and taxes which will need to be paid before delivery. This may vary depending on your state. Our carrier DHL will advise you of any payments required before delivery.

EU – No there will not be any additional taxes or charges to pay. Orders are shipped from Northern Ireland, which remains part of the EU single market after Brexit.

Can I return the watch if I don't like it?

Yes, absolutely.

We are confident you will enjoy your stunning Nomadic watch as much as we do. If for any reason, however you change your mind and would like to make a return, we are happy to issue a full refund within 30 days. We even pay for the return shipping.
