For the first time Nomadic presents a hand-wound dress watch shaped by Belfast and designed for those who move with quiet confidence.
Meet the Dána 141. The watch brings together timeless design, traditional watchmaking and a fresh perspective. The name comes from the Irish word dána, meaning bold. Boldness isn’t always about being the loudest person in the room. It’s not about demanding attention, sometimes, it’s simply about having the confidence to do things differently.
That’s the thinking behind the Dána 141. It’s a watch for people who trust their instincts, appreciate the finer details and aren’t afraid to do things differently.
Drawing The Design
The Dána 141 came to life through a creative collaboration between Nomadic and Sophie Scott-Lewis, bringing together artistic expression and technical precision.
The idea was to create something a little different, combining detailed graphite drawing with technical sketches, measurements and the geometry behind the design. From the chamfered edges of the case to the intricate details of the dial, every element was explored up close and brought together in a large-scale drawing.
A Number With Purpose
The number 141 takes it's inspiration from 1:1.41, a gemetric ratio based on the diagonal of a square.
A principle that has infulenced art, architecture and design for centuries. For the Dána 141, this relationship informs the proportions of the case.
A Modern Interpretation
The Dána 141 takes the classic dress watch in a new direction, combining timeless elegance with the rugged, industrial character that has always been part of Nomadic.
Look closely at the dial and you’ll see the influence of Art Deco, with its clean geometry, strong lines and sense of symmetry. There’s also a nod to Belfast’s shipbuilding heritage, particularly the architects and draughtsmen whose precision and attention to detail helped shape the city’s industrial past.
The case brings something different to the mix. With its angular lines, polished surfaces and sharp edges, it feels contemporary and architectural without losing the elegance you’d expect from a dress watch. It's this contrast that makes the Dána 141 what it is: a blend of classic influences and modern design, with a character all of its own.
The Finer Details
Sometimes it’s the smallest details that make the biggest difference. With the Dána 141, it’s all about the finish, the textures and the shapes that bring the whole design together.
1. Cut To Stand Apart
One of the first things you might notice is the sapphire crystal, which sits raised above the case with clean, chamfered edges. It’s a more complex and costly detail to achieve, but it gives the watch a distinctive look. As light catches the edges of the crystal, it creates a beautiful sparkle that brings the whole design to life. There’s a subtle connection here, too. The shape echoes the ‘O’ in the Nomadic logo, tying the watch back to the brand in a way that feels natural rather than obvious.
2. Texture With Purpose
Inspired by the precision of architectural draughtsmanship, the dial combines Art Deco influences with a distinctive vertical guilloché-effect texture. Subtle details create depth, character and a quiet sense of refinement.
3. Every Detail Matters
Expertly stamped, diamond-cut and meticulously polished, each hand is finished to capture the light with exceptional clarity.
4. The Art Of Timekeeping
Powered by a Swiss hand-wound mechanical movement, the Dána 141 celebrates the ritual of winding time by hand. A considered choice that honours traditional watchmaking in its purest form.
Choose Your Pairing
Make the Dána 141 your own with a choice of three dial colours: Black Velvet, Moonlight White or Emerald Green. Complete the look with your choice of strap, from Classic Croc and Alran Chèvre to Milanese Mesh or Alcantara Suede, each offering its own distinctive character and finish.
